I see therapy as a collaborative process between a client and a therapist and most enjoy working with clients who desire to know more about themselves and are open to the possibilities that a strong therapeutic relationship can engender. My contemporary and relational approach to working with clients, based solidly in psychodynamic theory, is open, curious, and unintimidating. I seek to help my clients better understand and appreciate the connections between their past and present experiences and develop strategies for managing difficulties and working toward a greater sense of peace and acceptance.

After receiving a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, I completed a postgraduate Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute and, subsequently, a clinical residency at Care and Counseling, Inc., also in St. Louis. For more than ten years, I have worked with adults in private practice and with college-aged students in the Allegheny College Counseling Center.

My services include individual, joint, and group therapy with adults and older adolescents. I have training and expertise in areas which include depression and anxiety, obsessive tendencies, identity development, women’s issues, life transitions, marriage and family issues, aging, gay and lesbian issues, maternal mental health, grief and loss, infertility and reproductive concerns, and trauma.
